Major Strategies 2007 - 2014
supportive housing WORKS faces two very significant challenges to achieving these aggressive goals: the capacity and management challenge of handling larger project volumes, and the financial challenge of filling the large funding gaps that characterize typical Permanent Supportive Housing developments. To meet these challenges, supportive housing WORKS is looking to shift the way it does development. Specifically, supportive housing WORKS is undertaking five strategic initiatives:
- Utilize co-development agreements with private developers to increase project management capacity.
- Build capacity to identify and structure projects, manage co-development partnerships, and directly develop small to midsize projects with member nonprofits.
- Expand supportive housing WORKS’s advocacy role to help and encourage other developers to set aside Permanent Supportive Housing units.
- Explore creative financing partnerships.
